Admissions
The individualized approach utilized at Penrith allows us to serve a wide
population with a combination of social, emotional, academic, and behavioral
challenges. Appropriate candidates are young adults, ages 18 to 27 years of age, with a
history of soft to moderate emotional and behavioral challenges, drug and
alcohol addictive cycles, low self-esteem, academic underachievement, substance
abuse and/or family conflict.
Penrith Farms accepts young adults, 18 to 26 years of age,
with a myriad of social, emotional, and academic challenges. The individualized
approach utilized at Penrith allows us to serve a wide population. Many of our
clients exhibit one or more of the following:

Strained family relationships
• Poor judgment
• Substance abuse
• Lack of motivation
• Lack of realistic goals
• Lack of problem solving skills
• Low self-esteem
• Learning issues
• Attachment issues• Lack of responsibility and
accountability
• Involvement with the legal system
• Defiance and oppositional behavior
• Emancipation and adoption issues
• Poor impulse control
• Ineffective communication skills
• Anger management problems
• History of abuse (e.g., victim of physical, emotional, sexual, verbal
abuse, etc.)
Acceptance is based on a review of the student's current and past history of
behavior, consultation with parents and professionals.
